These architectural drawings will help you better understand how the Hearth a Fyre™ is assembled and whether it will accommodate your fireplace.

The plenum (Radiator) is 18 1/4" wide at it's widest point, 11" high and 3 1/4" thick at it's deepest point. Your fireplace opening will need to be a minimum of 18 1/2" wide at the back of the fireplace to accommodate the plenum and the unit as a whole. The pipes, that screw into the plenum, are 3 1/2" in diameter. The space between the pipes is 10". The perfect size for 18" to 24" gas logs. The prongs that stick up out of the pipes keep your gas logs from rolling forward. There is 12" of space from the prongs to the radiator.

You must have a total of at least 19 5/8" of depth in your fireplace. Your fireplace can be deeper, but the maximum depth of the unit is 19 5/8". If your fireplace is less than 19 5/8" in depth the diverter bar will not rest flush with your fireplace. Please e-mail us at sales@hearthafyreonline.com or call us for options.

This drawing shows the parts of the Hearth a Fyre™. The burner is positioned under the tubes and the gas logs are arranged on top of the flat side of the tubes. (Note: You order your Hearth a Fyre™ with the fan box already set up for either the left or the right side of your fireplace.) This makes installation much easier and faster. The fan boxes are not interchangable from one side to the other.

The fan box has a powerful thermally protected motor. It's a 120 volt, 60 Hz Frequency, 2.7 watt, 2.2 Amperes motor. While the motor is powerful, it's still very easy on your electric bill.

The benefit of having a blower motor that sits on the outside of the fireplace is that you can remove the motor when it is not in use (Spring and Summer). Because the motor is not on the inside of the fireplace, you will have less heat and stress on the motor. Thus, the blower will last longer. Also you don't have to run the power cord into the fireplace, which can be very dangerous.

In this drawing we are showing you the front opening of your Hearth a Fyre™ and how the blower box and the front air diverter bar must rest flush against the outside of the fireplace wall. This unit will fit a fireplace with an opening up to 51" wide. The diverter bar is 3" deep and 36" wide with a 7 1/2" extension (part #10 and #11) on both sides of the diverter bar extending it out up to 51" wide if needed. The fan box can not sit in front of the fireplace, but it can sit just outside of the fireplace opening next to your glass doors. We have extension kits to make the diverter bar longer if necessary.
